Balsa Aircraft

After a short delay I decided to pick up where I left off and start building a balsa wood aircraft that has been sitting in storage for the last 10 years. This will be my third flying object this year. I’m riding a wave of moderate success after building a walk-a-long glider and ornithopter (moderately damaged after a nasty dive into the ground) earlier this month. I’ll post those soon. Until then, hear’s a preview of the Sig FF20 Cabinaire. I like to sound official.

Ornithopters

I was recently told that in Korea, you are rarely asked what you do for a living.  Instead, after exchanging names, your will immediately be asked what your hobby is.  I love that idea!  I think it’s true that most hobbies are far more exciting to talk about and will most likely reveal more personal insight, than a ‘must-pay-the-bills’ job ever could.  So, with the new year upon me, I’ve claimed a new hobby: Ornithopters.  I ordered my first ornathopter kit which arrived (to my delight) last night.  I’m looking forward to a year of things taking flight.
